Egypt (69) I left my heart in Egypt
Writing this blog from the very first post: Egypt (69) I left my heart in Egypt has allowed me (and my mum reading this) to re-live every single moment of our time in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. This includes every single person we met who touched our heart in any way.
Whether it was a tour operator, guide, receptionist, managers, chefs, bus boys, maintenance staff... anyone and everyone we came into contact with stole a piece of our heart.
Aladdin, Zee, the guys in Aswan, Ali, everyone in Luxor, Sam, Mohammad, Hussain, Mahmoud....everybody - in some small way or another, they all made our trip what it was and it is also gave me many stories to tell while writing this blog.
The latest e-mail I received from Ali, our guide said that he missed me: "I miss your sweet smile and beautiful eyes. When you come back to Egypt, I will flirt you a lot," he said!
Being in Egypt felt like I was walking through the pages of my History textbooks from school. At some points, it just felt surreal - I couldn't believe that I could now say I've seen the pyramids. I've seen the sphinx. I've been ON the Nile! Even writing this, I'm shaking my head in disbelief.
Back in high school, I remember saying that I want to live a non-regretful life. There are many things that I've done (or not) that I regret, but one thing is for sure...I'm so happy that I'm traveling as I've been doing. For me, travel is education. It's the meat for the stories I write.
Having said that, I have finally come to the end of my Egypt blog. If you've been following this, I thank you ^_^
